THE FIRM / EST. 2009

Independent by choice.
Personally invested.

We founded Ashworth & Vale to offer something deceptively simple: highly capable lawyers who remain involved, accessible and accountable.

OUR STORY

Built around the people who make the decisions.

In 2009, Sarah Ashworth and Daniel Vale opened a small practice in Holborn on a simple premise: clients should not have to choose between sophisticated legal thinking and a human relationship with their solicitor.

Today our team works alongside founders, family businesses, investors and individuals facing decisions that cannot be delegated to a template. We retain the habits that got us here: ask good questions, give direct answers, take responsibility.

We are intentionally independent, because our clients deserve a recommendation shaped by their interests—not by the size of someone else's department.

OUR BELIEFS

Principles we do not negotiate.

01

Candour

Tell clients what they need to hear, even when that is not the easy answer.

02

Stewardship

Treat reputation, relationships and resources as valuable assets.

03

Accountability

Own our advice and stay close enough to implement it properly.

04

Clarity

Make complex choices legible, practical and time-sensitive.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

Trust is a practice, not a claim.

Before any engagement we complete the relevant conflict and identity checks, agree who is responsible for your matter and confirm the scope and fee arrangement in writing. Our engagement documentation also explains confidentiality, complaints handling and any applicable professional regulation. We will never imply a regulatory status that we cannot verify.
